Resonances

“I dissolved the colour, let it flow — and something inside me broke free. It was joy. It was revelation.”

2020 is a year of rupture. The upheavals of the outside world drive me inward — into vast interior spaces I am compelled, or perhaps forced, to inhabit. From that urgency to reconnect with my own inner life, lights and shadows begin to surface. Memories. Resonances. All of this inner movement flows into gesture: paint dissolves and loosens without rational order, freely. It is the seed of a new vision, one that moves toward the unmanifest — a search that lets the edges of figuration blur, and carries within it the yearning for a truer language.
